Career Exploration Workshop
Unemployed or underemployed AND overwhelmed? Let us help you light the way to a career in a field you have both the aptitude and interest to be successful. This 3 hour workshop will guide you through a self-assessment process to determine your abilities/aptitude, interests and motivators. The workshop exposes you to research tools available to you to learn more about potential career options. These tools can help you determine if the career you have been considering will be in demand, if you have the necessary training or even if you want to consider obtaining the training you need in order to pursue that career. Lastly, you will conduct job searches with the help of the instructor and learn about the many ways Workforce Solutions can help you succeed in your path to a lifelong career.

Employ Florida Resume Basic
We will show you how to complete your employ Florida registration including the proper way to input background information in the background wizard and create a basic chronological resume using the Employ Florida resume builder. This workshop will also train you on how to understand the various menus and features that will help you towards a successful job search. Please bring your user name and password with you to class. PRE-REQUISITE: Must have good computer skills; comfortable using the mouse; click and drag the mouse, use the alphabet and basic keys on the keyboard, copy and paste OR completed MS Word Processing 201 and 202.

Ace The Interview
Now it’s time to come face-to-face with a potential employer and land that job. Workshop topics of discussion include: preparing for the interview; what happens during the interview; how to answer some common and difficult questions; questions to ask; how to close. Discussion is followed-up with a practical session. Participants will leave with many helpful handouts. (Pre-requisite: Participants must be registered in the Employ Florida system, actively seeking employment, have completed the resume class with a well-developed resume on Employ Florida or MS Word format and dressed in business casual attire)

Resume Lab/Review
PRE-REQUISITE – Registered in Employ Florida, completed Employ Florida Resume Workshop or completed Professional Placement Network (PPN). LAB IS FOR EDITING RESUME NOT CREATING. This is self-service workshop. Materials are made available for you to use so you can improve your resume. The Workshop Instructor is available to review, evaluate, and make suggestions to assist you in perfecting your resume(s).

Introduction to Computers
Are you afraid of the computer? This workshop is designed to give you basic information to help take your fears away! Through discussion and hands-on techniques, we will help you understand basic components of the computer, keyboard layout, mouse control, Windows XP desktop, how to start a program, how to use the internet and a quick, basic look at Microsoft Word 2007. (Pre-requisite: Participants must be registered in the Employ Florida system, actively seeking employment and be able to read and write in English)

Intro To Computers
This workshop is designed to give you basic information about the computer. The course covers discussion and hands on to understand the basic components of the computer, the keyboard layout and mouse control. This workshop is especially for those that have no mouse control or keyboarding skills. This workshop will teach you how to use the desktop, how to use the internet, and search engines.
