Job Seekers
Now what?
You've registered in Employ Florida and now find yourself wondering what happens next. Without your participation in this competitive market, very little will happen. Sure employers are searching the database. Our recruiters may find you while trying to fill a job order. However, neither of these things can happen unless you have entered your resume.
What should I do?
First make sure you have entered a resume into the system. The resume builder tool on Employ Florida is a user-friendly tool that can help you create a thorough resume. Additional assistance is available through various workshops we offer.
We recommend you log in each day and conduct a job search. If a position that you are qualified comes up, apply for it. Please understand you must meet the minimum qualifications for the position before we can refer you to the employer.
After a period of time, if positions you qualify for aren't coming up, re-evaluate your situation. Perhaps you need additional training. We encourage you to look at the occuppational matrix and see the types of training we may be able to help you obtain. Check out the Region 20 Occupational Highlights brochure. It provides insight on the fastest-growing occupations, occupations with the most openings and the top occupations by education level for our area. If you are interested in additional training, call 1-866-4U2-HIRE to find out when is the next WIA Orientation nearest you.
A note about Unemployment Compensation
Workforce Solutions is not the agency in charge of unemployment compensation. Additional information on unemployment compensation program in Florida can be found under the job seeker tab of this site. We also have some printed materials available at our centers that can help you in your application and follow-up process.
