On-The-Job Training Wage Reimbursement Program

Research Coast businesses have experienced tough times in the last couple of years. Surviving businesses have become lean machines operating with minimal staff handling multiple competencies.

If your business is struggling to find the ‘perfect’ candidate because of a skill gap or perhaps the cost of training a new employee is outweighing the need, your business can benefit from the On-the-Job Training Wage Reimbursement Program. Workforce Solutions is ready to help your business grow!

About On-the-Job Training

The On-the-Job Training (OJT) program provides businesses the opportunity to offset training costs of hiring a new employee. Employers can expect to be reimbursed up to 50% of their new employee’s wages during the training period.

Important Details

  • Employers participating in the OJT program are expected to provide occupational training so their new employee is successful and retained as a full-time employee after the training program period.

  • Public, private non-profits or private companies are all eligible to participate in the OJT program.

  • OJT program hires are expected to earn a wage comparable to similar positions within your company and in the region.

  • Worker’s Compensation insurance is required for OJT program hires and is the responsibility of the OJT program participating employer.
