On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) into law. The law’s intent is to preserve and create jobs, promote economic recovery, and assist Americans most impacted by the economic recession. America’s workforce system plays an important role in the economic recovery. The law provides the system with additional funding to help workers acquire new skills, connect workers to jobs, and position the system for the new global economy.

On the Treasure Coast, Workforce Solutions received $4.8 million to invest in local workforce development activities and services, plus increase the technology in our local system.
